A Harrisburg man was riding his bicycle home from his shift at UPS early Saturday morning when he was struck by a motor vehicle and killed. The motor vehicle was being operated by a 43-year-old man who elected to continue driving after the accident.
The accident happened near the crossroads of Cameron and Allison streets. The bicyclist, a 41-year-old father of six, was completely stopped at the intersection when he was hit. He died at the scene.

Two teenagers injured after being hit by a car

Near Lower Allen Township, two teenagers were injured when they were hit by a car during an attempt to go trick-or-treating.
The bad weather and poorly lit street added to the likelihood of the accident, which occurred after 8 p.m. on Sunday night. The two teenagers were crossing the street when the oncoming car didn’t have enough time to stop, ultimately striking them. At the scene of the accident, there was candy and strips of clothing in the street.
One of the victims was taken by a helicopter to a local hospital to be treated for severe injuries. The other left the scene in the back of an ambulance.
Different municipalities in the area decided to officially postpone Halloween activities until Monday night due to inclement weather on Sunday. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was one of those municipalities.

The Harrisburg police are currently investigating a tragic pedestrian accident that left an 8-year old boy dead. The accident occurred last month at around 10:15 P.M. at a crosswalk near Bishop McDevitt High School.
Officers said last Friday that there may be more witnesses to the accident than they initially thought. A press release stated that investigators from the Harrisburg Police Department are “especially interested in speaking with drivers or passengers in cars which were following the striking car.”
Police reports state that the 8-year old was struck after leaving a concert at the High School as him and his family walked across the crosswalk. The driver was a 16-year old girl and is said to have cooperated with police officers after the accident.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the boy’s family and friends.
