A Nissan Murano and a Hyundai Elantra were heavily damaged after colliding at the intersection of Steelman Road and Valley Forge Road. All passengers were able to escape the vehicles on their own, except for an infant who was in the back seat of the Hyundai, and a woman who was trapped in the passenger seat of the same car.

The woman was told to keep still until emergency responders had arrived at the scene of the accident. The Jaws of Life were used to remove the trapped woman from the car. The Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale transported the individuals involved in the collision to hospitals in the area.

The cause of the accident and the injuries sustained by the passengers has not yet been disclosed.

According to officials with the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, a Richland man and Harrisburg woman were uninjured in a single-vehicle car accident. The accident occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. in Pine Grove Township. Troopers say 36 year-old Richland resident Christopher A. Stevenson was traveling east on Mexico Road in a 2002 Mazda Protégé when the accident happened. His passenger was 27 year-old Harrisburg resident Beth Goodman.

According to the accident report, a deer ran out in front of Stevenson’s vehicle near state Route 501. Troopers say Stevenson swerved to avoid the animal and struck an embankment on the south side of the roadway. The impact broke the driver’s side window and side-view mirror, police say.

Neither Goodman nor Stevenson was injured in the accident.

According to police reports, Bilski’s vehicle was hit by a Slusarczyk Landscaping and Excavating truck at around 12:15 P.M. when she was turning out of the lower entrance of Vulcan Village.  Witnesses to the accident say that Bilski’s vehicle was crushed underneath the dump truck which erupted in flames after the collision.  Bilski was transported via helicopter to Mon Valley Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Leroy Kipe of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania was traveling in the eastbound lanes of the highway when he reportedly drove through a red traffic light at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Fort Loudon Road.  Kipe’s 2000 GMC Yukon was then hit by a 2003 Acura MDX driven by 41-year old Donna Fields.

The collision pushed Kipe’s vehicle into the median just north of the intersection.  The vehicle then proceeded to roll over multiple times.  Kipe was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  A passenger in his vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with not life threatening injuries.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Deodate Road and the Harrisburg Pike at around 3:15 in the afternoon.  Police report that Barbara Fink pulled up and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection.  After pulling out from the stop sign, a westbound traveling tractor-trailer ran into her vehicle and pushed it 85 feet.

Emergency crews had to extricate Fink from her vehicle.  On the way to Hersey Medical Center she passed away.

Witnesses to the accident say the student was crossing on Harrisburg from the College Row side of the street to the campus side.  Then, a driver trying to turn before the light changed quickly turned left and hit the student.  According to reports, the driver was unable to see the student because cars driving in the opposite direction blocked their view.

The student was transported to a nearby hospital by emergency medical services.  Public Safety authorities have determined that the student had the right of way.  Investigators are using video evidence to aid in the investigation of the accident.

One of the tractor-trailers caught fire after the three vehicles collided, leaving two of the drivers with serious burns.  The two were taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital for treatment.   52-year old truck driver Mario Chacon of Palmer Township was killed in the accident.

Police did not report on the specifics of how the accident occurred.

The customer, Omar Villalava-Martinez, was drinking at the Famous Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Coatesville before he drove and crashed head-on into Ryan Fell’s vehicle four miles down the road.  Villalava-Martinez was an illegal immigrant and has since been deported to Mexico.  The Famous Mexian Restaurant and Bar has closed since the accident.

Since the March 2007 car accident, Ryan Fell of West Brandywine says that she is still in pain from the accident and has remained unemployed ever since.

Philadelphia city officials reported that the accident occurred when the SEPTA bus traveling northbound on 16th Street was struck by a Delaware River Port Authority vehicle traveling westbound on Spruce.  The two vehicles crashed into Monk’s Cafe owned by Tom Peters after colliding.  Peters, who lives in one of the apartments above the restaurant, said he was awoken by the accident to see a cloud of smoke and the bus partially inside his restaurant.

All apartment residents were evacuated, but none were injured from the accident.  The bus driver and DRPA driver were taken to Jefferson Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

58-year olds John and Christine Inscho were traveling northbound on Interstate 380 around 4:30 AM on Friday.  The couple slowed and stopped due to traffic from an unrelated accident in the southbound lanes of 380.  Unfortunately, the tractor-trailer behind them, driven by 48-year old Victor Sanchez-Hernandez, was unable to stop in time, and rear-ended the Inscho’s SUV.  The SUV then ran into a Chevrolet Traverse stopped in front of it.

Sanchez-Hernandez suffered minor injuries from the accident, and none of the passengers in the Chevrolet Traverse were injured.  It was not reported whether or not the Inschos died at the scene of the accident or were transported to a hospital.
