A Pennsylvania woman is in serious condition after she was hit by a car in Harrisburg last week.
According to Lieutenant Robert Fegan with the Harrisburg Police Department, 57 year-old Gwendolyn Spinner, of Harrisburg, was struck by a Lexus shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday. The Lexus was traveling in the northbound lane of South Cameron Street when the accident occurred. The driver, Matthew Kostelac, of Shiremanstown, remained at the scene and spoke with police.
Kostelac has not been charged and the accident remains under investigation, Fegan said.
Car accidents can happen in a moment. A quick distraction or a brief lapse in judgment can be all it takes to cause a wreck. Yet the aftereffects of a car crash can take days or even years to sort through. When a crash is caused by one driver’s reckless behavior, it is simply not fair for the other people involved to deal with this aftermath on their own.
Even a relatively minor accident is not always a simple matter to deal with. Insurance companies are often reluctant to pay the full amount that policy holders are entitled to. Even worse, there are many drivers on the road without adequate coverage at all.
