One man was killed and eighteen others injured in two separate pileups on Interstate 80 in central Pennsylvania.
About twenty-five vehicles were involved in the pileups, police say. According to Clearfield County Police, the first wreck occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday when two tractor-trailers jackknifed. At least twelve other trucks and three cars were involved in that crash.
The second wreck happened about two miles south on the same interstate about thirty minutes after the first. As traffic slowed for the pileup, seven trucks crashed into one another and collided with a car driven by 57-year-old Steven Samuelson, of Orangeville, Ill. He was killed instantly.
