The dangers of worksite equipment and materials

Posted on November 20th, 2009 No Comments

Most construction sites use a variety of heavy equipment and materials. Because these items are so large and heavy, most constructions sites will keep them on-site, even during non-construction hours.

By leaving these items on-site, the construction company assumes a risk that people outside of the worksite will not be injured by the equipment or materials. Some people, however, are intrigued by construction sites and may attempt to trespass on the site.

Oftentimes if a pedestrian is injured while using this equipment, that person will not be liable for damages, especially if the worksite is clearly marked and protected. However, if the equipment and materials are left oustide the confines of the workspace, then the company in charge of the worksite may be liable for damages.
