A fire broke out along Vernon St early Wednesday morning. Police were responding to a report of children setting off fireworks in the area shortly before the fire started around 1:30am.
When fire fighters arrived, the flames had engulfed the first floor of a home, and five people had been forced out. Two fire fighters suffered minor burns in the fire. Investigators have already interviewed two of the children believed to have caused the fire.
